Save Beirut Heritage is an NGO fighting for the preservation of the architectural heritage of Lebanons capital.
In the 1990’s, an initial census counted 1600 traditional homes and buildings in Beirut. We estimate the current number to be close to 200 remaining structures.
With over 9000 volunteers, all connected through social media, we are able to efficiently monitor the city and its demolitions.
Today, we are bringing heritage in the 21st century, so download the app and join the fight!
This version of the app will help you:
- Locate the hidden architectural treasures of beirut.
- Discover the nearest heritage site to your current location.
- Find out which of the buildings are in immediate danger of demolition, and help save them!
With upcoming updates, this app will become much more interactive, it will allow you to send us photos and information on-the-go. It will also allow us to send you push notifications in case of emergencies. So be patient, were still growing!
